1 MONTH IN BANGKOK - 21ST APRIL 2010

After nearly 4 months moving around we decided to take some time out. Travelling we now realize, especially on the Indian Subcontinent, can be fairly exhausting and we were feeling a little saturated from all the experiences and impressions.  We decided to head for Bangkok where we previously lived for a year back in 2004/2005 and re-live the life that we use to have there.

After a terrible 10 hour delay stuck in Dehli airport transit area we finally made it to Thailand where we found ourselves an apartment to stay with luxuries we’d missed like cable TV and Internet. You can really live comfortable life in Bangkok. It’s great value for money but at the same time clean and modern, especially after being in India. This time Bangkok felt spotless and even the air seemed clean after Kathmandu.

We had a really nice month. We relaxed, made some plans for the future,  caught up with some old friends, we of course indulged a little, but went to the gym 20 times to compensate. We were also lucky to be in Bangkok during ‘Song Kran’ the three day water fighting festival, the perfect way to cool down in roasting temperatures of 38 degrees. The only downside was the red shirt protests, which were starting to get more violent in the days before we left. We love Thailand and the Thai people and hope for everyone there that the situation sorts itself out very soon.
