We finally made it to Sheila
(Simon’s mum) and Del’s house on the isle of Sheppey. After
the stress of packing and saying goodbye to friends and
family it was great feeling to finally get on the bikes and
start cycling.
The fully loaded touring bikes
were actually a lot easier to cycle with then we had
anticipated. Once you have the momentum they just keep on
rolling. We also increased the KM everyday with 42KM that
first day on the flat roads of Holland and we were surprised
that on day 5 we could already do 82KM even though the
terrain is a lot more hilly in England.
It was a great feeling to make
it here, we had a lot of fun and great weather so far and we
will take a couple of days off to rest our weary bodies. The
plan is then to slowly make our way south through Kent via
Faversham, Whitstable, Canterbury to Ashford where we will
stay for 5 days before heading off to take the boat to
France. |
